– Secure your home, garden & gates. Most incidences occur here.
– When walking be aware of your surroundings, avoid distractions like being on your phone.
– Only allow your dog off lead if recall is good and stick to well-lit areas.
– Consider some form of personal protection, wear bright, visible clothing or carry something to distract, disarm or draw attention, like a whistle.
– Keep microchip details up-to-date, especially if you move home or change your phone number.

In the event of such a distressing occurrence, report it to Police, you will need Crime Reference Number (CRN).
