Ruby (estimated 12 years) and Dee Dee (estimated 10 years) are a delightful Mother and Daughter bonded pairing. The girls arrived in our care following the passing of their elderly owner. 💞
Ruby is a wonderful older lady, with huge spirit and a very affectionate nature. She will want to be wherever you are, and being deaf, will watch you closely for cues, Her eyesight is good. Currently weighing 9.4kg and aiming for 8kg, Ruby still needs to lose some weight and will need an adopter to manage her diet and provide gentle daily exercise.
Ruby does have reduced lung capacity and long-term bronchitis. She will cough when stressed or excited. She’s received diagnostic radiographs and the vet has advised no medication, but instead, weight loss, a calm environment and gentle exercise.
Ruby is currently enjoying a short daily potter, then a ride in the dog buggy, which she enjoys. She may have the odd wee indoors overnight, but this improves once in a good routine.
Dee Dee is sprightly for her years and very affectionate. She currently weighs a very healthy 7.1kg and loves her walks.Dee Dee is also deaf, so allowances will need to be made for this. She is also very good at watching for cues and looks to her Mother for support and guidance at times.

Ruby and Dee Dee have beautiful kind, calm temperaments, and will make a suitable adopter very happy. They are currently living in foster with cats and a four-year-old female pug without issue. They can live as only dogs, or with another kind and respectful dog or two. They would like a good amount of lap time.
Ruby and Dee Dee are tightly bonded and will fret if separated from each other. 🐶🐶

Max is a big, boisterous, ‘goofy’, full of energy 2-year-old male pug!
Before being surrendered to the PDWRA 6 weeks ago, Max had spent most of his life living in a kennel in the back yard. He hadn’t had much human or other animal contact and slept and ate outside.
Initially, this was a challenge for his foster family because Max thought the house was his toilet area, and he would drag his fluffy beds to the garden to sleep! With a lot of coaxing, patience and constant ‘treat training’ Max is now 95% toilet trained and only has the occasional accident. 🐶

Max enjoys the younger pug company and is learning how to play now too. He is still nervous of new people coming to the house and barks at cars when out walking. He isn’t keen on other dogs approaching him and will sometimes pull, and he’s also not keen on sudden loud noises, such as hoovers, banging or lots of shouting.
Max already really loves his foster family but can be wary of new visitors to the house. We’d suggest he wouldn’t be best placed with children under 10 years of age, as he can be very bouncy when excited as is still a strong young puppy.
To help Max to continue his new journey of discovering what it’s like to be a proper loved and cherished pug, he needs a patient, consistent routine whilst adapting to his new environment. He’s now well on his way to understanding that people can actually be a wonderful source of love and comfort, which is lovely to see. 💞

Hey everyone! I’m Millie and I’ve just turned 10 years old.
My foster mum says that I’m a very calm and quiet little girl who just wants to hang out with her humans. I love nothing better than laying by my fave human’s side or down by their feet where I can curl up and fall fast asleep. I don’t like being left alone as it makes me anxious.
I love going on car journeys and I’d love to go everywhere with you. My previous Daddy (who passed away) took me into his office every day and I was treated like the princess that I obviously am. 💞
I mentioned about me being a little girl earlier but my foster mum and the lady from the charity say that I need to lose a lot more weight. I’ve already lost 2.5 kilos, are they trying to starve me!?
The lady from the charity took me to a specialist vet and we think I have something called osteoarthritis in my front elbows which has been made worse by my weight (rude).
I’m currently taking YuMove supplements, anti-inflammatory and pain relief meds which I will probably need to be on long term.
The specialist man doesn’t advise surgery and so the kind lady from the charity says that these meds would all be paid for by PDWRA for as long as I need them (once approved).

Because of my weight (currently 13.1kg) and my poorly legs, I’m not allowed to jump on the sofa or climb stairs and I can only walk very short distances as I get out of breath easily. I love riding in my buggy though and being taken out shopping or to the garden centre in my chariot! 🐶
I’m great with older little people but I’m not too keen on tiny ones as they’re a little too noisy for me. I would be best in a home where I’m the only dog so that I can be treated like a princess again.
My foster mum says that I don’t like sharing and I can get bossy and be dominant towards other dogs at home. 🏡
Love from Millie x

Daphne is a nine-year-old female pug cross, believed to be Griffon x Pug. Daphne is currently in foster with two male pugs, but would be best residing as an only dog, as she prefers to be the centre of attention. She could potentially live with a confident male dog that will stand their ground, as she may bully a weaker energy.
Although Daphne is heading into her senior years, Daphne is unaware of this. She is a little pocket rocket who has plenty of energy for play and walks. 💞
Daphne has bowed misshapen hind legs – a crab type gait. This does not hold Daphne back, and she loves her walks, and is very keen on the lead. Daphne may need anti-inflammatory medication as she ages, which can be covered by the charity.
Daphne arrived in our care, a little underweight, with a scurfy, sparse coat. Her foster carer is a groomer, and her coat is now looking good. Monthly Douxo shampoos (readily available online) and a hypoallergenic will help to maintain her coat.

Daphne wants to know what you are doing at all times, so will follow you room to room to investigate given the chance. She does like to howl and squeal when over excited and has some mild separate anxiety when first left alone. She will settle after ten minutes and go to sleep once she realises you are not immediately coming back. She can sleep happily downstairs at night but given the chance her favourite place would be end of the bed right by your feet.
Daphne is happy to meet all new people and any small dogs but will bark at bigger ones on walks. She can live with respectful children of seven plus.

Please meet Molly & Tilly, a devoted bonded pair searching for a loving home where they can stay side by side 💞
🐶 Molly (8-year-old French Bulldog)
Our bright, bubbly girl! Molly is curious, sociable, and loves being involved in everything around her. She can get a little excitable on walks (especially when she sees other dogs), but it comes from a friendly eagerness to say hello.
She’s great with people, comfortable around children, and has shown gentle curiosity towards cats. She knows some basic commands and absolutely lives for beach adventures and sniffing everything in sight 🌊🐾
🐶 Tilly (9-year-old Pug)
Sweet, gentle Tilly is the calm to Molly’s sparkle. She’s affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when close to her humans. Whether it’s a quiet wander around the house or a snuggly nap, she’s content just being by your side.
She’s wonderful with children, friendly with cats, and takes life at her own relaxed pace 💛
