If you’re considering volunteering locally or helping remotely, here are key ways in which you can help our charity.

Only with the help of Volunteers can we achieve what we do for Pugs in need.

There are many roles available (please see below) which we hope will bring you great satisfaction.

We are currently accepting Volunteering Applications from England and Wales.

Volunteer Roles

Rehoming Volunteer

We’re looking for somebody that’s hyper-organised, with good computer skills, to help manage the adoption appeals and processes as support to our Volunteer Area Coordinators. The ideal person would also have good communication skills and a love and understanding of the pug breed!

Volunteer Area Coordinator

Our VACs are at the forefront of the charity. They are at the receiving end of calls from the public who wish to surrender their pugs to the PDWRA. VACs guide and counsel them through the process and ultimately oversee the rehoming of their surrendered pug.

Fundraiser

If you are planning a personal fundraising event such as a sponsored walk or run, or have a gift in organising fundraising events for others we would love to hear from you.

Home Checker

Home checking for PDWRA involves visiting and interviewing an adoptive or foster applicant in your local area. The purpose of a home check is to try and gather as much information as possible about the applicant, their home, lifestyle and any other resident pets.

Transporting a Pug

Transporting involves the collection/delivery and transportation of a PDWRA pug or sometimes a bonded-pair of pugs.

You can specify the sort of distance you would be willing to travel. Fuel costs are reimbursed by the charity if you wish to claim for it.

Something Else

If you are interested in fostering please see the dedicated fostering section. If you have other abilites which you think may help the PDWRA in its aim of safely rehoming Pugs please get in touch.
